The all-new Reactor 5000 goal skate continues the legendary success of the Reactor line of gear by offering Bauer’s latest technology in a classic fitting skate at a value price point. The fit of the Reactor 5000 goal skate is based on the Reactor 2000 goal skate.
The core shell of the Reactor 5000 consists of a full nylon construction, offering a supportive base for the entry-level goalie. This shell is complimented by a soft comfort foam throughout the ankle and foot of the skate.
Taking note from Henrik Lundqvist of the NHL’s New York Rangers, Bauer has given goalies a new option for strapping their pad. On the heel of the boot, a nylon loop has been added, resulting in the pad sitting higher on the skate for better coverage and agility. Of course, this is simply an included option; traditional style boot strapping can always still be achieved.
Other features of the Reactor 5000 skate include an extended felt tongue with insert as well as a flexible ankle collar for maximum mobility.
To finish off the skate, Bauer has mounted the boot on their new generation cowling with 4mm runner, providing a stable base with good attack angles for fast movements around the crease.
